Artist Biography & Facts
Carlo Siviero

Carlo Siviero (1882 - 1953) was active/lived in Italy.  Carlo Siviero is known for Painting and sculpture.

After studying at the School of Drawing with Tommaso Celentano, Siviero continued his training at the Academy of Fine Arts with Vincenzo Volpe, and in 1901 he enrolled in the Academy's Free Nude School. Although his works tackle different genres, it is in his portraits that he demonstrates his talent most clearly. Through a chronological analysis of his portrait production, we note a progressive dematerialization of the drawing line, towards a construction of the bodies through a skilful use of colours, thus marking a departure from the Neapolitan academic tradition in favor of more modern styles from beyond the Alps. He took part in numerous important exhibitions, including those of the Società Promotrice di Napoli and the Amatori e Cultori di Roma, as well as the Venice Biennale (1912, 1920, 1922, 1930) and the Rome Quadrennial (1935, 1952, 1956). He received the silver medal at the International Exhibition of Barcelona in 1911 and in 1916 he was appointed academician of San Luca.   ...  [Displaying 999 of 1998 characters.]  Artist bio
